S1 EP12: Um dia no zoo (A1/A2)

Hello everyone! I am “back” after an unprompted break because of the beginning of my Master’s degree. I will still keep this series going even though the frequency of the episodes won’t be the same. Today we finish Season 1 of A1/A2 Texts but this won’t be the end of this series! There will be a Season 2 which will started with easier texts and continously become a little bit more difficult as it’s been happening with Season 1.
On today’s text we’re going to keep talking about Uca and his birthday present. We’re going to be using a lot of Past Tense, both Pretérito Perfeito and Pretérito Imperfeito.
Let’s get started!
O Uca fez anos dia 18 de agosto e como prenda de aniversário os pais ofereceram-lhe dois bilhetes para o jardim zoológico. Com esse bilhete extra o Uca decidiu convidar o melhor amigo dele, o Miguel.
O dia estava muito bonito, com sol e um céu azul. Não estava frio, nem estava muito calor, a temperatura estava perfeita e ótima para dar um passeio.
A primeira coisa que o Uca e o Miguel fizeram foi andar de teleférico. Esta é uma viagem curta que passa por cima de todo o parque. Conseguiram ver todos os animais lá de cima. A vista era espetacular!
Depois de descerem do teleférico decidiram visitar os tigres primeiro. O Miguel gosta muito dos tigres brancos, ele sempre quis ver um de perto. Os dois aprenderam que existem muitos tipos diferentes de tigres. Mesmo ao lado dos tigres, havia elefantes a brincar na água. Os dois amigos ficaram muito tempo a observar os elefantes.
Ao longo do dia, o Uca e o Miguel viram muitos animais: girafas, leões, tartarugas, flamingos, macacos e papagaios. Às 4 da tarde eles já estavam com muita fome então decidiram lanchar. Encontraram uma área de piqueniques onde se sentaram à sombra de uma árvore e descansaram um pouco. O Uca comeu uma sandes que trouxe de casa e o Miguel uns rissois que a mãe dele fez.
Antes do fim do dia, eles ainda visitaram a zona dos répteis, onde viram cobras e lagartos. O Miguel não gostou muito dessa parte. A parte favorita dele foram os tigres e a parte favorita do Uca foram os elefantes. Eles gostaram muito de passar o dia juntos e com animais!

Answers:
1) O Uca recebeu dois bilhetes para o zoo. (Uca received 2 tickets for the zoo)
2) O primeiro animal que viram foram os tigres. (The first animal they saw were the tigers)
3) O animal favorito do Miguel foram os tigres e do Uca foram os elefantes. (Miguel’s favourite animals were the tigers and Uca’s were the elephants)
4) No final do dia foram à zona dos reptéis. (At the end of the day they went to the reptile zone)
