Ep.5 - As roupas do Uca (A1/A2)

Hello everyone and welcome to the first episode of the Beginner European Portuguese Podcast powered by Uca Teaches Portuguese, I’m your hostess Raquel Reis!

How are you guys today? I don’t know if you guys noticed but we changed the cover of the podcast, I think now it’s a little bit more lively I like it a little bit better. It’s cuter and it has Uca on the cover. And I’ve also started another podcast for Intermediate European Portuguese. So this one is going to be only for beginners in European Portuguese. We’re going to keep having these A1/A2 text series that we’ve been having and maybe we’re going to be talking a little bit more in English than in Portuguese, just to be able to explain a lot of things since it’s going to be a beginner podcast. However, we’re still going to be talking in Portuguese and then I’m going to bring you guys some storytelling, some work with vocabulary. Everything related to A1 and A2 curriculum.

Then, I decided to create the Intermediate European Portuguese podcast because there are a lot of topics I would like to cover in terms of Portuguese: the language, how it works and how to study, but also Portuguese culture and a lot of other topics. However, I felt like bringing those topics in English only here to the podcast would be interesting but at the same time it wouldn’t help you guys in language learning, right? And that’s what I want so, I thought why not bring these topics in Portuguese for intermediate learners. This way you guys still learn about the language, culture and other topics, while also practicing your Portuguese skills. Don’t worry, everything is going to have transcripts and flashcards for vocabulary!

Today I’m bringing you yet another A1/A2 text from the series we’ve been doing these last few weeks. Today’s text is going to be about clothes. I’m going to be talking about Uca’s clothes and I also added a little section about his friends clothes so that we can have a lot of vocabulary and just a longer text. It’s not going to be as long as last week’s text and it’s not going to be as difficult in terms of verbs. I do think it’s an easier text, but I still wanted to bring it to you guys because it’s an important theme to know.

Let’s get started!

As always the text is going to be read in two different speeds: the first one is slower and the second one is faster.

A roupa favorita do Uca são camisas e o acessório favorito dele são bonés. As cores favoritas dele são laranja e preto.

Quando está calor ele usa T-shirts com calções, mas também gosta de camisas de verão. No verão ele prefere ficar na praia o dia todo, então tem de usar óculos de sol e protetor solar todos os dias.

Mas no inverno e no outono quando está mais frio ele usa blusas de manga comprida e de gola alta. Ele nunca se esquece de usar o seu cachecol azul, gorro e casaco quando sai de casa. Quando os dias são bastante frios ele tem de usar luvas. Com estas roupas todas o Uca nunca tem frio!

Os amigos do Uca usam roupas parecidas ao Uca. O Uca tem dois amigos chegados: a Ana e o Miguel. A Ana adora usar vestidos. Ela tem muitos vestidos de várias cores e padrões. Os favoritos dela têm desenhos de flores. Mas no inverno ela não pode usar vestidos porque está muito frio. Nessa estação a Ana prefere calças e casacos compridos para ficar quentinha.

O outro amigo do Uca, o Miguel, gosta muito de roupas desportivas. Ele adora t-shirts de equipas de futebol, calções e fatos de treino. O Miguel também usa ténis confortáveis para correr e jogar futebol com os amigos. Nos dias mais frios, ele usa um casaco quente.
