In this episode we’re going to read a text about Uca’s job. It uses Present Tense and Past Tense (Pretérito Perfeito).

Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Beginner European Portuguese Podcast powered by Uca Teaches Portuguese. I’m your host Raquel Reis and today's text is going to be about Uca’s work. So, we do know that Uca is studying, but he also works. He does have a website, right? So, we're going to talk a little bit about that.
I must admit today's text is a little bit on the short side, but a good thing is that we are introducing the Past Tense specifically Pretérito Perfeito, Simple Past. And on the next text we are going to be introducing the other Past Tense, Pretérito Imperfeito. But it's good to start bit by bit. I believe that even though today's text is a little bit shorter than the other ones, you guys can still enjoy and learn a little bit more, learn a little bit from it.

O Uca trabalha com a amiga dele num website para ensinar português. Eles trabalham juntos há 1 ano. Ele criou o website porque gosta de ajudar os estrangeiros a aprender português. Ele adora ajudar as pessoas. Ele trabalha no website e a amiga dele trabalha como professora. A amiga dele chama-se Raquel e é professora há quase 4 anos. Ele conheceu a Raquel no Algarve.
Eles começaram a trabalhar juntos porque têm a mesma paixão: ensinar português e partilhar a cultura de Portugal.
No website, o Uca cria exercícios e atividades divertidas para aprender vocabulário e gramática. A Raquel explica português e também dá aulas online. Os dois gostam muito do que fazem e ficam felizes quando os alunos conseguem aprender coisas novas.
Nos tempos livres, o Uca e a Raquel adoram explorar as tradições portuguesas para incluir no website. Eles já visitaram vários lugares históricos e provaram comidas típicas, como pastéis de nata e bacalhau à brás. O Uca e a Raquel acreditam que aprender uma língua também é aprender sobre o país e a sua cultura.
