Ep.2 - O tempo livre do Uca (A1/A2)

Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of the Beginner European Portuguese Podcast powered by Uca Teaches Portuguese, I’m your hostess Raquel Reis!

I hope you guys enjoyed the last episode where we talked a little bit about Uca’s family. This week we’re going to be talking about Uca’s free time. We’re going to talk about it in detail, every day of the week and the weekends. It is also going to be with vocabulary and grammar within the A1 and A2 curriculum. Personally I believe this text is a little bit…a tiny bit more complex than the previous one. This because there’s a lot of vocabulary, a lot a lot a lot of prepositions…but it’s still uses only Present Tense and A1 grammar. So I think it’s going to be ok!

As always I’m going to read the text in two different speeds: the first one is slower and the second one is faster. Let’s start!

O Uca é um rapaz que adora explorar novas atividades e tem muito tempo livre! Ele tem muitos hobbies. O Uca é muito feliz com estes hobbies e fica ocupado a semana toda e o fim de semana também.

Às segundas-feiras, o Uca tem aula de arte depois das aulas. Esta aula é no atelier da escola e todos os alunos participam. Começa às 4 da tarde e acaba às 6. Na aula de arte ele desenha e pinta desenhos muito bonitos e com cores vibrantes. O Uca adora misturar todas as cores. Ele é muito criativo e talentoso. Depois o Uca volta para casa.

Às terças e quintas, são as aulas de dança do Uca. Dançar é a sua atividade favorita. Ele dança músicas animadas e está sempre a aprender novos passos todas as semanas. “O Uca é o melhor dançarino da turma”, diz o professor. As aulas de dança são das 3 às 5 da tarde.

Às quartas-feiras, o Uca não tem atividades depois da escola. Ele gosta de ficar a conversar com os amigos ou preparar para os exames. Também joga videojogos com a irmã à noite.

Às quintas, o Uca pratica o seu instrumento favorito - o violino. É um instrumento muitoo difícil, mas o Uca quer impressionar os seus pais. Ele gosta muito de tocar com os seus colegas e de participar em concertos. Ele adora música clássica.

Às sextas-feiras, o Uca pratica desporto ou lê com os amigos. Ele acaba as aulas ao meio-dia e depois vai para o parque com os amigos. Eles correm, jogam andebol e também gostam de ler. Os livros favoritos do Uca são de ficção, mas os amigos preferem não-ficção.

No fim de semana o Uca trabalha no seu website e passa tempo com a família. O tempo com a família é sempre muito importante. O Uca agora estuda inglês também. Ele pratica inglês 4 vezes por semana antes das aulas.

Don’t forget that you can answer these questions just thinking about them in your head, saying them out loud or writing them down.

Answers:

1) Às segundas-feiras o Uca tem aula de arte. (On Mondays Uca has art class)

2) A atividade favorita do Uca é dançar. (Uca’s favourite activity is dancing)

3) Às sextas-feiras o Uca está com os seus amigos. (On Fridays Uca is with his friends)

4) Aos fins de semana o Uca trabalha no seu website e passa tempo com a família. (On the weekends he works on his website and spends time with his family)

Great! Now you can get working on the questions, listen to the texts as many times as you want in different speeds.
